TV on DVD - Family Classics
"Family Classics" debuted in 1962 as a weekly movie showcase on WGN-TV Channel 9 in Chicago. Beloved host Frazier Thomas chose and edited the film selections each week. In later years, the Sunday afternoon tradition was hosted by Roy Leonard. In 1994, the series was limited to holiday season airings, ending in 2000. A portrait of Garfield Goose was hung proudly over the set's fireplace, painted by Roy "Cooky" Brown. A copy of the portrait is available at our online museum store.
A selection of the movies featured on "Family Classics" are now available for your home viewing pleasure.
